چکیده

Sanhuang-Siwu-Tang (SST), composed of seven medicinal herbs, is a well-known herbal formula used for the treatment gynecologic diseases. To expand clinical use SST, we explored anti-inflammatory or anti-neuroinflammatory effects SST water extract in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages and BV2 microglial cells. According to HPLC analysis, main components were from Scutellariae Radix, Coptidis Rhizoma, Paeoniae Radix. significantly inhibited pro-inflammatory mediators including lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced production nitric oxide (NO) prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) as well protein expression inducible synthase (iNOS) cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), interleukin-6 (IL-6) tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) LPS-stimulated Furthermore, these mediated by mitogen-activated kinase-related proteins (MAPK) nuclear factor κ-light-chain-enhancer activated B cells (NF-κB)-related proteins. Overall, this study demonstrated that potential therapeutic prevention inappropriate inflammation, neuroinflammation, neurodegenerative

Anti-Inflammatory Effect of Ginsenoside Rg5 in Lipopolysaccharide-Stimulated BV2 Microglial Cells

Microglia are resident immune cells in the central nervous system. They play a role in normal brain development and neuronal recovery. However, overactivation of microglia causes neuronal death, which is associated with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, controlling microglial activation has been suggested as an important target for treat...

Anti-inflammatory effects of saponins derived from the roots of Platycodon grandiflorus in lipopolysaccharide‑stimulated BV2 microglial cells.

Radix platycodi is the root of Platycodon grandiflorus A. DC, which has been widely used as a food material and for the treatment of a number of chronic inflammatory diseases in traditional oriental medicine. In this study, the anti‑inflammatory effects of the saponins isolated from radix platycodi (PGS) on the production of inflammatory mediators and cytokines in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimu...

Anti-neuroinflammatory of Chloroform Extract of Panax ginseng Root Culture on Lipopolysaccharide-stimulated BV2 Microglia Cells

Background: It is believed that activation of microglia in the central nervous system upon detection of stimulus like lipopolysaccharides provokes neuroinflammation via the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and cytokines. The cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory properties of various folk medicine has been gaining attention as a strategy to combat various disease. This study aimed to ass...

Purpurogallin exerts anti‑inflammatory effects in lipopolysaccharide‑stimulated BV2 microglial cells through the inactivation of the NF‑κB and MAPK signaling pathways.

In this study, we investigated the inhibitory effects of purpurogallin, a naturally occurring phenol, on the production of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced pro-inflammatory mediators and cytokines in BV2 microglia cells. The cells were pre-treated or not with various concentrations of purpurogallin and then stimulated with 0.5 µg/ml LPS. Cell viability was measured by MTT assay. We also measure...

Anti-inflammatory effects of ursodeoxycholic acid by lipopolysaccharide-stimulated inflammatory responses in RAW 264.7 macrophages

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. METHODS We induced an inflammatory process in RAW 264.7 macrophages using LPS. The anti-inflammatory effects of UDCA on LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages were analyzed using nitric oxide (NO). Pro-inflammatory and anti-i...
